Welcome to my ENC 1102 ePortfolio

ePortfolio check points

Welcome to my ENC 1102 ePortfolio. This collection showcases the work I completed throughout the semester as I developed my research, writing, and rhetorical analysis skills. You’ll find my major assignments, reflections, and evidence of my growth as a writer. ENC 1102 emphasized creating meaningful inquiries, navigating multiple writing genres, integrating research responsibly, and contributing to academic and public conversations.

Exploring Inquiry, Rhetoric, and Research Writing by Generating inquiry

In ENC 1102, I learned that meaningful inquiry fuels deeper research and richer discussions. I used to think that rhetorical questions avoided complex topics. Still, this course showed me that inquiry actually strengthens analysis by asking questions such as why, what, and when. I learned to create sustained lines of inquiry that guide my thinking. During a class discussion, using more exploratory questions helped me uncover how a peer constructed her writing results, demonstrating my progress toward this learning outcome.

Learned to adapt my writing with Multiple Ways of Writing

Before ENC 1102, I used the same writing style in all my classes. This course showed me that different genres require different approaches. For example, I used dramatic elements and analytical commentary in my Theater project, while my Military Science assignments required precise, structured academic writing. Learning how to shift tone, style, and format based on purpose and audience has made my writing more adaptable and intentional.
